Shadows

lock your doors
and stay inside tonight
for the night is dark and deep
and you have no idea
what lurks in the shadows
what peers in
through your windows
what watches you
as you walk
through your
brightly lit house
you have no idea what waits
with endless hunger
for you to step outside
