True Friends

you make me admit things
i'd rather pretend weren't
you make me look at things
i'd rather ignore
you make me keep my word
when i'd rather be lazy
you make me feel guilty
for not writing enough
knowing you're reading
makes me think about
what i'm writing
there's no coasting
with you around
you remind me of the truth
when lying would be much easier
you make me wonder
what i could do
you make me remember
who i really am
so, in case i forgot
thank you
